Irina is BetterWords Text & Translation's top-notch simultaneous and consecutive interpreter with over 20 years of experience. She has interpreted for Russian leaders such as former president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and former Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov on live BBC television broadcasts.

A certified interpreter for the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Irina has worked with numerous politicians, academics, artists and businessmen from Belarus and Azerbajian. She is also a certified interpreter for the UK Immigration Tribunal.

She has extensive experience in interpreting for the offshore energy industry and has worked all over Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union. Irina has also interpreted at several Chernobyl charity events in the UK.

Irina interprets between Russian and English (both ways) and between English and Belarusian (both ways).

  • On 7 March 2002 Mikhail Gorbachev, the former president of the Soviet Union, was interviewd by the BBC's Bridget Kendall on a variery of topics ranging from Chernobyl, Afghanistan, and the collapse of the Soviet Union, to his views on Vladimir Putin.   • On 3 March 2003 Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov told the BBC's Talking Point that Russia has not ruled out the use of its veto in the UN Security Council to prevent a war in Iraq.
